2019-20 Seniors Week

Information for applicants

City of Gold Coast (City) invites incorporated not-for-profit community organisations that support the Gold Coast community to apply for a grant for projects/events/activities during Seniors Week 2019 (17-25 August 2019). 

Available funding

A not-for-profit organisation hosting an event or activity independently can apply for a maximum of $500.

A not-for-profit organisation collaborating with one or more community organisations can apply for  a maximum of $1000.

General information

Projects, events or activities proposed for assistance:

  • must take place during Seniors Week (17-25 August 2019)
  • must be relevant to the needs and interests of seniors on the Gold Coast
  • may be recreational, artistic, literary, sporting, creative or educational
  • may involve training, research, promotions or distribution of information.

Assessment criteria

Applications must demonstrate how the project will benefit our community and achieve the following outcomes:

  • reduce social isolation and/or builds networks for seniors in the city
  • promote healthy ageing and positive attitudes towards seniors
  • provide information relevant to the wellbeing of Gold Coast seniors
  • have lasting benefits beyond Seniors Week 2019
  • an accessible event or activity that includes seniors beyond the usual membership of the group/s.

It is advisable to read the Community Grants Policy and Procedure for Community Grants Program (attachment B) before completing your application.

Applications close 4pm Thursday 28 March 2019 (Australian Eastern Standard Time).
