The Arts Development Fund

The purpose of the Arts Development Fund is to support the Gold Coast’s creative community by fostering professional pathways, skills development outcomes and to provide community benefit that contributes to the city’s vibrant lifestyle.

The City provides grants to financially support operations and projects that deliver measurable outcomes aligned to the City Vision. Funding supports a diverse local arts sector, grows community engagement and satisfaction with the arts and builds local employment in the sector.

Arts Projects – Professional Development

Funding up to $2,000 available.

This program is a rolling grant stream that receives applications throughout the year (or until funds are fully expended) to support individuals, organisations and collectives seeking funds towards professional development opportunities.

Professional development opportunities grow your skills and practice and build your career. For example, structured mentorships, residencies, secondments, conferences, workshops and training.

Eligible opportunities to participate in professional development activity will come from recognised peak body organisations or arts and cultural experts with recognised professional standing.

Professional development activity does not refer to projects including the creation, development and presentation of work, touring and new market development, exploration of new and emerging art forms etc. (these types of projects are aligned to Arts Projects - Small Grants and Arts Projects – Major Round).

Attachments and supporting documents

You may need to upload/submit attachments to support your application. This is very simple but requires you to have the documents saved on your computer, or on a zip drive, or similar.

You need to allow enough time for each file to upload before trying to attach another file. Files can be up to 25MB each however, we recommend keeping files to a maximum of 5MB – the larger the file, the longer the upload time.

If you are not able to upload a document, please contact the Grants Officer for support.

Completing an application in a group

A number of people can work on an application using the same login as long as only one person is working on the application at the one time. Ensure you save as you go.
