Bulky Kerbside Remission Program

As of April 2026, the City of Gold Coast has introduced the Bulky Kerbside Service Remission Program. This program helps partially cover the cost of private bulky waste collection services.

The program operates in two steps:

Step 1 – Remission program Application

A Body Corporate representative must first submit an application to the City of Gold Coast to be approved for the Remission Program before arranging any private bulky kerbside collection. Application will be processed within 21 days.

Step 2 – Claiming the Reimbursement (to be submitted within 90 days of approval)

Once the application has been approved, the Body Corporate can then engage with a private bulky kerbside service. The Body Corporate then can submit a reimbursement form to request payment under the Remission Program once the private service is completed and paid for. All private bulky waste services are arranged and managed solely by the Body Corporate representative. Reimbursement requests will be processed within 21 days.

Remission Tiers

Remission values are based on the number of units/lots in each Body Corporate building or gated complex.

*Remission payment note: Where the cost of the private bulky kerbside service is lower than the applicable tiered remission amount, the remission will be limited to the actual cost of the service, and no credit will apply to any remaining balance.

Eligibility criteria

This Remission Program is available for eligible Gold Coast properties that meet all below criteria:

• Community Title Scheme (CTS) or Body Corporate buildings and gated complexes for residential only;
• with more than 10 units/lots;
• currently using the City of Gold Coast waste collection services.

Private bulky waste collection service may include:

• Skip bins
• Waste removalist trucks or trailers
• Other suitable bulky waste solutions

Submitting your application

When you submit your application, you will receive a confirmation email with an attachment of your application form via your registered email address.

You are now ready to submit your application.

Please note: Your application will be processed within 21 days and the outcome of your application will be provided via email correspondence. 

Once approved, the CTS building/complex needs to provide the below evidence to receive the City's remission.  Please submit the below evidence with reimbursement form:

• Photos of the skip bin/truck/vehicle/removalist or other at your complex, showing empty upon arrival and filled before removal;
• Compliant paid tax invoice;
• Compliant supplier receipt;
• Bank statement in your Body Corporates name.
